A LITERARY MUSIC HOUSE
Part listening room, part private library, part gallery of inner worlds.
Tilted Lighthouse is a home for original poems, lyrical songs, performance recitals, and works of reflection. It was not assembled around a single genre, public persona, or conventional idea of a band. It grew from a body of writing that gradually began asking for voices, instruments, atmosphere, and space.
Some works remain poems. Some become songs. Others move between narration and music, carrying the listener through a landscape rather than toward a conventional hook.

HOW THE LIGHTHOUSE CAME TO BE
The poems came first.
Across more than five decades, Mike Tinghitella followed questions through wisdom traditions, psychology, anthropology, phenomenology, myth, nature, human relationships, civilization, and the systems and fields that shape our lives. Those inquiries became poems, stories, images, and private reflections—some plainspoken, some symbolic, some mystical, and some drawn directly from lived experience.
Tilted Lighthouse emerged when those works began taking musical form. What started as an adaptation of poetry gradually revealed a larger world: songs of love and loss, devotion and doubt, memory and endurance, the unconscious, the natural world, and the life beneath appearances.
The lighthouse became the fitting emblem—a place of illumination and warning, refuge and isolation, arrival and departure. Slightly tilted, because neither life nor the people living it are ever perfectly level.
THE PEOPLE WITHIN THE LIGHTHOUSE
M.P. TINGHITELLA
Writer, lyricist, and creative director
Mike writes under the name M.P. Tinghitella. The poems, lyrics, concepts, narrative structures, and interpretive world of Tilted Lighthouse arise from his long engagement with experience, meaning, consciousness, nature, and human relationship.
His work often begins with an image—a lighthouse, an empty room, a wounded bird, an ancient tree, a harbor, a road—and allows the physical world to carry what cannot be stated directly.
CAROL
Vocal inspiration and musical companion
Carol's voice and musical instincts bring a second emotional register to the project. Her presence is felt most clearly in works that call for tenderness, old-world feeling, emotional clarity, or a strong feminine point of view.
As Mike's wife and companion of more than four decades, she also brings the honest ear of someone who knows both the writer and the life from which much of the work emerged.
THE CREATIVE PROCESS
Many Tilted Lighthouse works begin as complete poems or lyrical narratives. Some remain faithful performance recitals. Others are reshaped into verses, choruses, movements, spoken passages, and musical conversations.
The process is iterative. Words are revised by meaning and by ear. Different arrangements, tempos, voices, and instrumental settings are explored. Multiple interpretations may be developed before one is selected, refined, and placed within the larger catalogue.
The objective is not to use technology for novelty or speed. It is to find the musical form capable of serving the original writing—without reducing its ambiguity, imagery, or emotional truth.
A NOTE ON AUTHORSHIP AND PRODUCTION
All poems, lyrics, concepts, narrative direction, and editorial decisions are original to M.P. Tinghitella. Selected musical arrangements and vocal interpretations were developed using contemporary generative production tools under the creative direction and curation of Tilted Lighthouse.
