Every poem and song begins somewhere—in an experience, an image, a question, a relationship, a dream, or a moment that refused to pass without reflection.

The Keeper's Journal is where we share the paths that led into these works: what inspired them, how their imagery developed, what changed when poems became songs, and some of the meanings and questions that continue to live inside them.

The works themselves remain open to the listener's experience. These entries are offered as doorways, not final explanations.

We’re Never Gone: The Kindness That Outlives Us  

I wrote the poem that became We’re Never Gone in 2010. It is about the mystery of death and the question death leaves behind.
